The protagonist and opening cast
The protagonist, often called Anon in official materials, is navigating family loss and a debt mystery in Summerville. Debbie and Jenny are connected to the opening household; Erik is an early friend. Their stories intersect with the broader main plot.
Route groups
| Route | Where to begin | Progress check |
|---|---|---|
| Debbie and Jenny | Opening household and phone hints | Main-story stage and previous conversations |
| Erik | Early friend and school-related events | Time of day and connected tasks |
| Diane, Roxxy and Mia | Their relevant map locations | Intro event, items and related story progress |
| Teachers and town characters | School and town locations | Check build-specific availability |
This is a navigation overview, not a claim that every route is present in each build. The official walkthrough separates Stable and Preview steps.
How to follow one character route
- Identify the exact game branch and the character named by your hint.
- Note the last event that played and the location where it occurred.
- Check the phone hint and return at the appropriate time of day.
- Complete any linked task, item or ability requirement before trying again.
- Save before a major choice, then use the same branch’s guide for the next step.
Stable and Preview character coverage
The Stable build has the broader set of finished legacy routes. Preview is a work-in-progress rebuild, so a familiar character can appear before their entire route has been ported. When an online character list says “all unlocked,” treat it as a third-party claim until you can identify the exact build and test the route in that build.
What if a character disappears?
Consult the in-game hint system, revisit the last completed event, and check whether a connected route is blocking progress. Make a save before testing a different path. See the beginner walkthrough for a reliable routine.
